Miss O

Miss O

Part of my goal and purpose in starting this blog is to not only share my expertise and knowledge about balanced living, but to share my journey as a new mom – and all the gifts and challenges that come with it! As such, I plan to share our adventures in parenting, lessons I want Miss O to learn, recipe ideas for little ones, and general “momisms” I’ve discovered. Please follow along below this initial post for more on these topics. You may also visit the subsequent pages under Raising Miss O. Enjoy!

My daughter, Olyvia Nikole, will be a year old on the 25th of April. Motherhood has changed me in ways I never could have imagined or appreciated until the first moment I held her in my arms (after a 23 hour labor…ouch!).

What I’ve come to realize is there are no perfect parents or perfect children, but there are countless perfect moments along the road and part of balancing our lives involves modeling the values and behaviors we wish to instill in our children. In short, being a parent is the toughest job I’ve ever loved and I am continually grateful that I get to be Miss O’s mom. What a trooper she’s been this first year as I wrestled with adjusting to my new and most important of roles. At the end of the first year I can confidently say while I have the role of raising Miss O, she has really taken the role of raising me as a mom, as a role model, and as a strong woman.

Oh, the adventures we’ll have, the mistakes we’ll make, the secrets we’ll share, the love we will nurture. I love you baby girl – with all that I am and all that I have.
